..... it just feels like it !
Yep still got the Man Flu, I was feeling fine there for a couple of days and then I seemed to have a relapse.
So once again I've had to resort to watching lost of things ( it's a hard life ) as well as playing a decent amount of L.A. Noire, I've found it interesting that I've been able to watch a big-ass TV with no real problems but if I spend any great length of time in front of a computer monitor I start getting headaches which is why it has been so long between blog updates but then there are far worse things in life.

The woes of a Nolan Groupie.
Just discovered that the final movie of Nolan's Batman trilogy is going to be filming some of it's scenes in Scotland.
As a fan of Nolan, Batman and speaking as a Scottish resident, this news makes me go like this:
Don't take that as a suicidal statement, it wasn't. Relax.
People very rarely understand what I'm talking about when I discuss movies with them. It saddens me. But I guess I am here to educate you on pop culture. Deal with it.
Speaking of "The Dark Knight Rises"... Have you seen it's primary villian?
As a fan of Nolan, Batman and speaking as a Scottish resident, this news makes me go like this:
And if I wasn't 17 and starting to grow old and wary of my bones breaking, I'd also do this:
Actually, I might do that.
After taking an overdose on paracetemol.
...
Don't take that as a suicidal statement, it wasn't. Relax.
As said, BATMAN IS COMING TO SCOTLAND!!
So excited.
I tried to inform my Mum of this:
ME: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES IS COMING TO SCOTLAND!!
MUM: That's nice *blank expression*
ME: ... NOLAN IS COMING TO SCOTLAND!
MUM: ... Is that... good?
ME: ... *grabs "Inception" and "The Dark Knight" DVD's* NOLAN!! *points at DVD's*I was having extreme difficulty articulating a reason for my excitement. Pointing and going "foruypoxdt!!!!" seemed to be a reasonable reaction at this point.
MUM: Oh! Is that your director?
ME: Yes!! The sequel to this film *holds up DVD of "The Dark Knight"* will have scenes filmed in Scotland... the last in the trilogy... the last sequel in Nolan's Batman Trilogy, will be filmed in Scotland!! I need to go. I don't know when it is, or where they are filming, but I need to go. Nolan will be there... Christian Bale might be there! It's the last Batman!!
MUM: ... This is all going over my head.
ME: Batman: Good! No... Nolan's Batman? GOOD! Nolan? GOOD! Christian Bale *draws a circle around Batman with finger*
MUM: Bad?
ME: GOOD GOOD!
MUM: Good good?!
ME: Good good!!

Tom Hardy is Bane!
Very "Silence of the lambs"-esque picture there.
For those who don't know who Bane is, he's one of Batman's most powerful foes: Both intellectually and phsyically.
I doubt he'll be able to match Heath Ledger... But I'm looking forward to seeing what Nolan can accomplish next!!

List of movies you have to watch before the end of the world
Seen as today is meant to be "rapture day", I thought I'd type up a little end of the world themed blog post!
And seen as the blog is called "Confessions of a movie geek", what better blog post to write than a movie themed one?!

- Inception
- Fight Club
- Requiem for A Dream <= Most disturbing film I have ever watched.
- Pulp Fiction <= The trailer doesn't explain the film. At all.
- The Dark Knight
- Memento
- Sin City
- Se7en <= Watch it. Please. If one more "WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!" reference goes by unrecognised, I will combust.
- Forrest Gump
- Trainspotting
- American Beauty
- The Prestige
- The Green Mile
- Black Swan <= Ending was so awesome it paralysed me.
- Dead Poets Society
- Mary and Max
- Shutter Island
- Life is beautiful <= So what if it's in Italian? That's what subtitles are for. It's a life affirming film and it's one you need to watch.
- Crash
- A beautiful mind
Half of them, you probably have never heard of. That makes me upset.
A good movie can help you escape from your troubles. They can set you free.
A great movie can change your life. They allow you to pinpoint what is important in your life, what is worth fighting for, what your aspirations are, what you are doing wrong with your life, and what you can do to right it.
A good movie quote can stifle a few laughs in the movie theatre, they can affect the audience member in that precise moment, when it enters their consciousness, later to be forgotten about, but at that precise moment? It affect them on some strange level.
A great movie quote helps shape your life.
"Only after disaster can we be resurrected"
"Carpe Diem"
This is why I love movies. They can be deep, or merely a piece of escapism. They can make you laugh, they can make you cry, if they come from Pixar, they are guaranteed to make you do both.
Watch these films, come back, and tell me that you didn't feel something raging in your gut whilst watching them. Some inexplicable feeling of enlightenment or a sense of witnessing cinematic history. That feeling? That is the reason my fellow movie geeks and I watch movies. Pop culture is a religion. Don't let someone tell you otherwise.

P.S. 34 minutes until the end of the world. Going to go get ready for bed. I love sleeping through major events.
Thankful for...
Awesome friends
Brilliant family
Rubber ducks
Gerard Butler
Bass guitars
Sean Batty
and....
Interior designers.
I've had an amazing day today. Just... wow. Very much in the "loving life" stage right now.
Okay, run through of what happened today:
Went to town with my Mum in the morning, we went for something to drink at Michie's the chemist (yes, they have a little cafe downstairs) then had a quick look in Bruce Miller's.
I might be getting my first ever bass guitar really soon. Which makes me go:
The person who chose the songs chose them far too literally!!

I really like
bass.
I could be getting the blue one.
Then we went to Jaegar, and Ewan was working!
...
But I didn't see him, so he got annoyed with me because I never went and said hello to him.
Oops... sorry Ewan!
Headed to T.G.I Fridays next for a bite to eat with Abie and Lewis.
If you live in Aberdeen, you need to go to Union Square's T.G.I's, such a cool little place. I want my house to look like T.G.I's, it's awesome. The peacock that hangs on the wall is by far my favorite part of the whole shop.
This is so retro. Love it!
Had a lovely lunch with my amigos.
Then it was off for a spot of shopping!
NOTE: It was mostly Lewis doing the shopping. As always, me and Abie were just getting dragged along, holding his bags and his clothes.
Haha, we're really just his personal shoppers, and he knows it!!
Back to my house for lengthy twitter conversations with Megan, Ben, Glen, David, Laura and Sara.
MEGAN: Oh I want a tattoo of a blue rubber duck. I have made my decision.
Cute.
Random.
This sums up Megan perfectly.
After that, it was off to Sara's for a brilliant catch-up and a quick watch of "The Bounty Hunter".
Gerard Butler. Ooft.
Soundtrack? Not so ooft.
The person who chose the songs chose them far too literally!!
For example:
A parade is set on fire. What song is playing in the background?
"Fire Burning" - Sean Kingston.
Milo and Nicole are playing Craps. They are running out of time to win $10,000. What song is playing in the background?
"Tik tok" - Ke$ha
A caddy is running for his sweet, dear life away from Milo. What song is playing in the background?
"Stayin' Alive" - Bee Gees.
Bee Gees.
The BEE GEES.
*shakes head*
I couldn't make that up if I tried.

I'm not wasted, acting crazy, making a scene, like it's my Birthday
Good Charlotte word play, got to love it!
17 years old... emphasis on old
I know that, technically, I'm pretty young, but I feel really old!
Woke up feeling like... well... bleh.
Got much better as the day went on, realised how awesome my friends and family are!
My yummy cake.
LOL, JK.
I haven't ate it yet. Too pretty.
I love this photo, me and my Mum ^_^
I was spoiled. As always. Don't even know what I did to deserve my friends and family, but whatever it was, I'm thankful I did it!
Megan gave me my second checked scarf (which I love) and my transformation from "average" to "emo" is now complete.
Don't believe me? Ask Halle. She commented on emo-ness on Wednesday (which... I still need to blog about. SO FAR BEHIND).
Oh fellow emo kids...
We are so misunderstood.
Lauren xxx
P.S. I'm not really "emo"... I just love the music, the fashion and the mentality.
P.P.S. So maybe I am emo... But I dislike labels!
Oh dear, Shakespeare
I wish Shakespeare kitteh stole my Macbeth >_<
The English exam went....not as well as expected.
There were several factors that added to this outcome:
- We were shoved in a newly re-decorated room, that smelt like General George. (NOTE: General George is a business that sells carpets. I am saying that the room smells like new carpets, not a military leader named George)
- The examiners kept going in and out of said room. I think they went out at least twenty times in the four hours we were sitting that exam. Kept losing my train of thought.
- I was completely zonked on paracetamol and piriton...
+
=
Just don't take those two together. I was way to calm and "out of it".
And as a result?
I didn't finish the close reading. That really annoyed me because I'm usually totally in the zone when it comes to close reading. ARGH.
The other thing that threw me?
The second passage was written by this guy...
Who looks like he's possessed.
To point out why Boris Johnstone was a ridiculous choice for the SQA to make for an "intellectual" writer, I've included some BoJo quotes:
"Voting Tory will cause your wife to have bigger breasts and increase your chances of owning a BMW M3."
"I think I was once given cocaine but I sneezed so it didn't go up my nose. In fact, it may have been icing sugar."
"My chances of being PM are about as good as the chances of finding Elvis on Mars, or my being reincarnated as an olive."
"Yes, cannabis is dangerous, but no more than other perfectly legal drugs. It's time for a rethink, and the Tory party - the funkiest, most jiving party on Earth - is where it's happening."Yes! Let us condone drug use. Brilliant example to set there Boris.
Megan cheered me up though, went round to hers for Dinner and to watch "Fight Club" and play some Assassin's creed.
Brilliant night to balance out the rubbish day.
Thanks Megan!

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date
How stoned does that rabbit look?
Going to be honest, I never thought I would be this far behind on my blog.
There's no deadline to when these posts have to be completed by (there's no deadline at all in all honesty) but at the start of the year, I made my list of "Aims" for 2011 (as, those who know me are aware, that I do not make New Years resolutions because they expire as soon as you no longer acknowledge 2011 to be a new year).
Here's a reminder of what they are and how I'm getting on with them:
(Easy aims)
Blog for every day of the year. Does that mean blog everyday? No. It means blog ABOUT everyday
Do Project 365 again
Go on a road trip
(Intermediate aims)
Pass all my Highers
Finish off one of my Movie Scripts
Get a job
(Difficult aims)
Play Yahtzee with Hayley Williams
Get a hug from Pink/Danny from The Script/Katy Perry
Watch 100 movies at the cinema
Blogging is going fairly well, just need to get back on course for my daily blog post.
Project 365 is written off entirely, I just don't have the drive to do it again.
A road trip is debatable... I'll see if anyone fancies a drive in Summer!
In the middle of sitting my Highers right now... I'll fill you in on the completion of this aim in August.
Ehh... Let's just say... It's not going so well.
^^ Ditto ^^
Still haven't played a game of Yahtzee with Hayley... I'll tweet her tonight asking if she fancies a game soon.
Looking as if my last chance is Katy Perry!!
That last one is going surprisingly well! Just need to have a couple of cinema days with Halle and I'm well on course to complete that!
I'm just determined to keep writing. I made the promise to myself that I would (not to mention the promise I made to Ellen, who I would like to give a little shout-out to. She's awesome.) and I hate breaking promises.
And urgh! I hate using I so much in these posts. How self-centred do I sound?
We're all conceited individuals at heart. Let's brush past that and hug.
This post is about last Thursday, which I spent going to the...
LIBRARY!
I know, right.
However, I went to the library with Calum and Caitlin, so the awesomeness of those two balanced out the nerdiness of the library.
Sophie was going to go too, but she had a (very inventive) excuse.
She was smelly, so she didn't want to go out of the house, and she was just going to wait and have a shower before the English exam the following day to save her time.
Ahhh... So Sophie!
That could totally be a new catchphrase.
Okay, I can't remember much about last Thursday... I can remember Caitlin and Calum giving me a packet of frazzles and having some good banter whilst we attempted to revise.... I don't remember much else.
Clearly... we didn't revise hard enough.
More on that in the next post.
