Oh how it poured

It has basically done nothing but rain for the last couple of days here but I can't really think what I've done during that time, sure I've played some more Just Cause 2 and read some more Legion of Super-Heroes and watched another Doctor Who DVD but that doesn't seem like much.

That can't be all I've done of any note..........can it ?

If you're alone and you're eating, speak to a chef..

I look outside.

It's cold. It's windy. It's raining.

It's officially winter.

When I say Winter, the first thing you think of is Snow and Christmas, am I right?

Yeah. That's what I thought.

Rain and wind is NOT part of the deal winter! Give us Summer back.

Was watching Crash, which is an AWESOME film about Racism and bigotry, Nathan Dillon and Sandra Bullock are in it (despite having minor parts) and it's directed by John Haggis, brillaint film, I recommend it.

"You think you know who you are? You have no idea"
Love the tagline so much.

Anyway, I braved the elements (No medal necessary) and went to the bus stop.

Got to school, yadda yadda, you know the drill.

DOUBLE ENGLISH

So, for a double period, we had no english teacher.

We did, on the other hand, have two subs.

Mrs Fulton (Legend) and Ms *trails off*

Hay? Is she Ms Hay?

Ms Grubb?

Ahhh I don't know.

Me and Lee sat and talked for the first period, she drew some more fruit for her fruitbowl and talked about "Om Nom Friday's"

Details on that coming soon ;)

Then we went to the other room to "Copy down notes"

From the computer.

Why can't we just print them off?

Because our school is poor and we can't afford photocopying.

Unless... there's no teacher to disapprove of this decision!

So that's what we did.

We printed off 50 sheets of paper... 2 bits for the whole class, plus at least ten extra.

Because we're worth it.

Then Billy was telling us about this book, "The Life Of Pi".

BILLY: It's about this Indian boy from... Somewhere in India... Begins with a P...
MEGAN: Pakistan?
BILLY: No.
CAITLIN: Popadopolous?
BILLY: NO!
CAITLIN: Pompeii?
MS HAY: That's in Greece.
BILLY: Go look up Cities in India that start with P! Actually... It could be a C....
MEGAN: Oh my god, do we need to know this?!
MS HAY: *Looks up City* Pondicherry.
BILLY: PONDICHERRY! That's it! Well, he comes from there, and his Dad owns a farm, and the zoo has to...
KATIE: A zoo?
BILLY: Yeah.
KATIE: You said farm.
BILLY: Well I meant zoo. The zoo has to move so they put all of the animals on a boat, and the boat starts sinking so the little boy gets thrown onto this life boat, and he saves a tiger, then he realises, "Wait a minute, this could eat me" but it was too late cause the tiger was already on the boat, but it didn't do anything because he was tired with exhaustion...
ME: *To Lee* Was he high when he read this?
Then he made us do this quiz, to learn the notes we got printed out, so everyone had to come up with team names.

Me, Lee and Jo didn't know what to call our's... So Billy helped us out...

BILLY: Okay Ms, right down the G. A. Shoots.
Patiently, he waits for people to get the sexual innuendo.

Some people didn't get it. To which, Billy told them to say it all together and quickly.

If you are one of the people that didn't get that joke, see page below:

I aim to educate you on Sexual Innuendos. Your welcome.

Some people took longer than others.
MS HAY: .... OH!!... That's disgusting.
Billy was quiz master.

This involved three things:
  1. Tickling people with Ms Shaw's feathery duster.
  2. Reading out questions into an oversized foam microphone (Yeah, that was just lying about...)
  3. And finally, impersonating this guy.
Sexy.

DOUBLE HUMAN BIOLOGY

Not much was done.

I felt like a bitty of a waste of space that day! Not doing any work.

I felt bad for Dr Robo... he was getting a lot of cheek.
"No-one can be bothered"
"We're really bored."
"Is anyone actually listening?"
Poor guy. He's actually a really good teacher if you just pay attention!

I went home after that, thank god for double last on a Monday!

Went to town after that, nice just to have some time to yourself.

There was this third/fourth year girl in Menkind, she had a pram (with a baby in it yes. Daughter? Sister? You're guess is as good as mine) and she sat in the massager seat for half an hour.

During school?

Hahaaaaa, god, the youth of today.

I apologise on our behalf!

CONFESSION OF A MOVIE GEEK:
I'm not like most teenagers. I don't go out drinking. I don't smoke. I'm not a slut. I sleep, eat, talk and watch movies. And I am content with that.

Got my Dad some Campervan cufflinks and a mug. His Birthday is soon. So's my Mums. Need to get her a prezzie too. Any ideas?

I went for a late lunch after that. I really wanted a Frankie and Benny's, but it looks so bad if you go in by yourself.

So went to yo sushi instead, I know most of the people in their anyways, not by name, but by face.

This girl from behind the counter smiled at me and then told me to take a seat wherever, then this boy came over and asked me if I've been to yo suhi before.

Automatic reaction is always "Yeaaaah" with a huge grin.

After my automatic reaction, I always want to change it to "Yeah, i suppose you could say that... you're new, aren't you?"

Then this chef that looked like George Takei (a LITTLE bit like George Takei)

Yeah, well he started speaking to me and he took my order, bless! ^_^

So I gave em a tip for making me full and feel less lonely.

Then went to starbucks.

God damn it Bethany Joy.

She should really become their spokesperson.

They'd do well.

Anyways, I had a gingerbread latte, pretty tasty! Got sickening by the end though, but I had a Muffin Break cookie (I know, how fat am I?) and it gives the coffee a REALLY good after taste, like gingerbread dough.

NOM!

Not the camera... NOT THE CAMERA!

Cousins.

You love em, you hug em, but god damn it you should NEVER give them your camera.

I discovered this the hard way.

Yeah. I went over to my little cousins house on Sunday, armed with my camera, cause that kid is really just too cute.

All together now, N'YAW!

He is a little monkey though.

Well, that's kind of true.

Before you read the next paragraph, here's what Operant conditioning is:

Operant conditioning: Where someone (usually a child) learns a behaviour or action through imitation of others. Behaviours and actions are either copied or avoided dependant on where the person that is being imitated is rewarded or punished for their behaviour. If nothing is said about said behaviour, child will assume it is okay to act in this way.

He is at an age where he is learning through imitation, and his cousin, Kieran, is a bad influence on him, through Operant conditioning he's deciding that he can do what Kieran is doing because Kieran does not get punished for his actions, even though they are examples of bad behaviour (e.g. jumping on and off of sofa, selfishness). Cameron then gets the blame for repeating these actions, when in reality, he doesn't realise what he's doing is wrong.

Yes. I am a psychology student and I will analyse you any day *Winky face*

So he pulled the fire alarm yesterday.

Sorry. He ALMOST pulled the fire alarm yesterday. Someone caught him just before he did it.

When my Uncle asked him why he did it, he said that he could get away with it because Norman Price did it.

Who's Norman Price you ask?

I asked the same question.

He's one of the Fireman Sam characters, and god damn it he's a bad influence!

He's a practical joker and pulled the fire alarm, and he didn't get punished (this is where Operant conditioning comes in again) so Cameron, who is a big fan of Fireman Sam, decided to copy his actions.

So, I think this proves that if you don't want a homicidal child, don't let em watch horrors.

Anyway, getting back to Camera fail.

Cameron wanted to take some photos, and being a good cousin, I let him.

So he snapped away quite happily for five minutes or so before...

He wanted to go to the bathroom.

To take photos.

At which point, he said he was gonna take a picture of the toilet and I'm thinking... Oh nooo.

But he wouldn't let go of the damn thing so I put the rope around his hand and told him to be careful.

Was he careful?

Oh nooooo.

He stuck his TWO ARMS DOWN THE TOILET so I freak out and dive in after him.

What happened?

He let go.

FML!!!

It was okay though (Just).

Such a shame. He got the row of his life for that, felt guilty.

His Dad actually told him "Santa won't be coming this year after you did that to your Cousins camera!"

Oh my god. I've never seen so much tears coming from one person before in my life.

Another life lesson: Don't tell your kids that Santa won't be coming this Christmas. Meanie.

He was truly sorry about my camera, bless his wee cotton socks.

Ennnnnnnnnnnd blog.

Random Stuff

Watched five episodes from the first season War of the Worlds, three more to go and that's finished, Iron Man 2 ( Blu-ray ) and and Doctor Who: The Seeds of Doom arrived in the mail this morning, yesterday I got the first season of The Night Gallery on DVD, I don't think I ever saw any episodes of the show so I'm looking forward to that.

I've also started reading DC Comics' Legion of Super-Heroes Showcase volume three, I've never been a huge fan of Curt Swan's artwork and as these stories all saw print during the 60's they are pretty camp and silly but it has been an interesting read.

I think I need a good book to read, I'm just not sure what type of book I want to read and Just Cause 2 is still eating up huge amounts of my time, apparently blowing up things never gets old.

Please don't leave me because who knew we were the only couple capable of getting this party started?

We've all done it.

Cringe worthy use of song title references in a sentance.

Admit it. We've all done it.

Was very prepared for having an AWESOME day on Saturday.

But, once again, plans were cancelled when I was sitting by the door with my jacket on, ready to go.

FML!

Went to town with my Mum and Dad. Got a new Bench jumper. Awesome. Thanks Mum!

Mum and Dad were fighting again though. She wasn't wanting to eat and my Dad was trying to convince her that it wasn't healthy not to eat.

Depression sucks. Go forth and multiply serotonin so she can be happy? There's a good hormone.

Saw Mrs Anderson in town too, did the shop dive aversion technique (Run into a shop to avoid awkward conversations). Wuuuuuh hin!

Went to Halle's at night though to watch X factor and have a dominos.

Totally saved my day!

I love Halle's bro. He's my little buddo.

N'yaw.

Probablly guess that her Brother is the one on the right (If you didn't, go get your head checked and your eyes tested)

The wee cutie on the left is her doggie Louis.

We spent a good hour or two (DID NOT feel like an hour or two though!) watching X factor and having a good laugh.

Then the pizza came.

Om nom. BBQ pizza base with chicken, bacon and pineapple and a side of garlic pizza bread.

OH! And not forgetting the huge 2L of IRN BRU.

Mmmm hmmm.

We did a webcast after that.

Big fail. We couldn't even figure out how to switch the stupid thing off!!

We is gangstaaaa.

LOUIS! <3

We posted a link to a youtube video after that, which Lewis tells us brought him to a cat video.

It didn't.

He LIES ;)

Get a Life ! ( part 2 )

I've just finished reading William Shatner's Get a Life ! and it was a fun ( mostly ) light hearted read as Shatner talked about fans, fandom, conventions and life as the actor who played Captain Kirk ( at the time of writing ) for over 30 years.

Was this book a fun read ? - yes

Do I feel I have a greater understanding of Star Trek fans and what they find so attractive about the Star Trek franchise ? - no not really, apart from a couple of touching stories this all basically repeats all the same kinds of answers to the question What makes Star Trek so appealing ? that we've all seen / read before.

Do I recommend this book to anyone who wants a deeper understanding of Star Trek and it's fans ? - no not at all.

However having if you want some light hearted observations about Trek, some of it's cast members and the people who enjoy the show then you could do worse than give this book a try.

Do you want a cauliflower for Dinner?

Teachers.

They are so god damn strange.

Anyways, I am now TWO days behind on this blog, and I'm meant to have today's one done by now too so tecnically THREE.

Boo.

I can't even really remember what happened on Thursday, but I'll try my best.

I do remember that we had to watch this Poppy appeal video, I was almost crying. It was so sad. Sad music on the top of war images and monuments for lost soldiers equals emotional rape.

I just mentally slapped myself and told myself to get a grip.

STUDY

I was sitting drawing perfume bottles.

Yeaaaah. I know.

That was actually studying though, It's art!!

Bad art, but art none the less!

Sara was telling me about her Brother and his questions at Dinner the other night...
SARA'S BROTHER: Is Mr Lawson on drugs?
SARA: Might be... why?
SARA'S BROTHER: I put up my hand and then he asked me "Do you want a cauliflower for dinner?"
I'm sure he's just... no... nope... no words to explain that question other than "mental breakdown" or "Drugs".

MATHS

Maths was boring and we didn't do anything. Moving on...

PSYCHOLOGY

Fantastic. It was raining.

And, those who know me, will realise that my hair detests the rain and will go all "Abba" on me.

In fact, I put anything on top of my head to try and protect the hair from the rain... I call it Operation Waterdo.

Get it? Like Waterloo but with a do instead of loo, as in a hair do?

Don't get it? No, that really sucked. Forget I said anything.

The reflections on the river were awesome, so pretty, and autumny too, favourite season of the year autumn.

We were trying to Operant condition others in our class, or, in other words, we were trying to make them do the YMCA without em knowing.

Yup. You've heard right. Each group sent out one member and made them stand outside, we made up an action for each of them (Y for one group, M for ours, C for another, A for another one and finally, an exclamation point)

Dod was amazed how shy we all were. Turned out they just had NO clue what they were meant to be doing.

Communication is key!

Lewis broke Claire's Mirror and lunch.

He was spinning it around a lot and then.

Woooops.

Fell off of the table.

The one of the mirrors had fallen out of it's case and Lewis was totally nervous about it being broken and having to deal with 14 years bad luck (two mirrors you see)

He was safe.

FREE PERIOD

Free period was pretty good actually.

Bev, Lauren and Lewis were in the library with me, so it was a good laugh.

Lauren was doing accents... Her Australian accent was amazing.

As was her Jamaican accent...
LAUREN: Mali boom boom! Always drink responsibly.
She slagged off the advertisers, asking why they had to ruin a BRILLIANT advert by adding in "Always drink responsibly" at the end.

She had a point.

Then we got talking about scary movies and scary stories, I laughed at Lewis' one. He said he got freaked out by the Lion King.

All together now, N'yaaaaaw!

He was also telling us about Lucas' old house, it was actually haunted.

No joke.

Haunted.

Oooooooh.

Lights going on, then off, then on again, shadows appearing from no-where, Footsteps. Weird stuff.

DOUBLE ART

Not much done again.

I printed off FIVE sheets of my photos so I could attempt to design a perfume bottle the next period.

By the time I had found my sheet, It was time to pack up.

Win? :)

There was a big puddle on the ground (from the rain yah numpties) and Kelly looks down at it, sees the little orange pine shavings from the trees and shouts
KELLY: FISHIEEES!
That kid slays me.

Went to Megan's for tea that night, had baked potatoes and chocolate brownie ice-cream (Not together)

And we watched the middle. Awesome show, please, PLEASE watch it if you haven't already.

Then we went to see the Advanced Higher Drama people performing their plays.

Woooow. They were amazing.

CONFESSION OF A MOVIE GEEK:
I used their performance as a catalogue for actors and actresses to use in my film. If their play was like Argos to film-makers, Ewan would be sold out.

Let me break it down for you (Tagged under #ThingsaWhitePersonShouldNEVERsay)

LAURA'S PLAY

Laura did her play on... let me think of how to describe it... inter-related characters which include a Rich woman (Ms Rankin), A wannabe star in the making (Ashleigh), The Rich Woman's perverted Husband (Ewan) and a prostitute who connects them all (Laura).

Brilliant acting. I'd say the highlight of the play were the opening monologues.

"I want to be famous. I want my fame to bring infamy."

Fantastic. Powerful. Thought provoking.

So Laura goes to Ms Rankin, who was wanting to order her (Is that how you say it? Order a prostitute?) for her husband, Ewan.

Ashleigh gets shouted at for being a little girl a LOT of the time. In fact, all of her scenes basically involve her being shouted at. Poor thing.

Ewan and Laura had AMAZING chemistry. Ewan played his part so well, a sick pervert who actually physically repelled me. Seriously. Wow.

He just pulled her trench coat off of her, caressed her neck and pulled out her hair bobble before the lights cut to black and the deed was presumably done.

ANDREW'S PLAY

Andrew's play was on anorexia, and it was a great technical piece. Very well thought out.

Laura played a female anorexic called Anna whilst Andrew played a male Anorexic called Rex. Get it? Annarex. Anorexic?

Ashleigh's idea apparently, little genius.

Anna blogged about losing weight, whilst Rex read it and commented on his "Inspirations" posts.

At the beginning, Anna and Rex were separated by the distance of the stage, but lead very parallel lives, weighing themselves, drinking water, measuring their guts, you know, anorexic stuff.

Anna's boyfriend (Ewan) wanted to take her to a restraunt, which, clearly, did NOT bode well with her, and she wanted to stay in instead.

Rex, who DIDN'T know that his friend's girlfriend was his anorexic inspiration, was working out with Ewan at the gym. He almost fainted and refused to eat.

Cut to Anna's bedroom, where Ewan was chilling out with her. Anna said something to which Ewan tickled her playfully, Anna shouted at him and they got into a heated argument about her huge weight loss, which resulted in him being chucked out.

Ewan apologized to Anna over the phone, she accepted his apology and later that day, he travelled to Anna's house, at the exact moment she was in the toilet being sick. Ewan issued her with an ultimatum, it was either the anorexia or him. Sadly, she chose the anorexia and Ewan stormed out, leaving Anna on the floor crying.

The ending was what the play was memorable for, the parallel between the two character, Anna and Rex was missing, Anna was no-where to be seen. Rex carried on his usual morning ritual before sitting down at his computer and sending messages to Anna, wondering where his inspiration had gone, asking if she was Okay, telling her that he was worried about her and finally begging her to reply.

She never replied.

Thought that was very powerful.

EWAN'S PLAY

Very difficult to follow, but another powerful play.

It all began with Death (Andrew) emerging from a box (Pandora's box) and grabbing a little boys hand as he played with a toy aeroplane, saying
ANDREW: It all happened in 102 minutes.
He was talking about the Twin towers.

Cut to Ewan and his wife Laura fighting over Ewan's workaholic attitude.

Ewan's character said that he just wanted to be able to provide for his family, Laura's character said that his family just wanted him.

Ewan left for the office anyways.

After the long SATURDAY morning/afternoon working, he returned home, and both of the character stood on top of two pillars decorated with mirrored paper (the twin towers) that were placed at completely opposite sides of the stage as they discussed their future.

Then the lights turned red and Death came forth, then Ewan and Laura stood in front of him, holding out two photographs each. Death looked at Laura's, then handed it back. Death looked at Ewan's, then pocketed it. Death held out a hand and Ewan reluctantly shook it.

Ewan then went away and left Death holding a phone, he picked up the phone and a voice over of Ewan's characted came on as a voicemail to his wife, telling her that he loved her and their kids and that there was some sort of explosion at the offices and that people were killing themselves. None of it felt real. He said that he would be thinking of her until his last breath.

Then Death hung up the phone.

Powerful huh?

They were all really good.

Took me and Megan about 45 minutes to fill out their evaluation sheets! ¬_¬

Cause their so goooooood.

Sorry for late blogging!
