Scotty's IMC prize WIP: Circle Orboros
Just a real quick update on how the Circle battle box is coming along for my IMC prize.
I was following the studio scheme fairly close at first but as I layed down the black on the armor filigree so the gold could go on smoother, I had to pause for a second, and I realized I really liked the black with the green quite a bit.
What are your thoughts on this, should I continue on and do the gold as originally planned or throw some highlights on that black and call it good?
More updates soon!

Scotty's IMC Prize WIP
Well, unfortunately I cant even call this much of a WIP yet even though I have put a few hours into them at this point.
These figs had been through some rough times when they got to me, but a dip, soak and scrub with acetone got em back in shape and ready to assemble.
Just have a bit of green stuffing to do and the I can prime and catch up to the pack on this project!
This will be the 3rd time I have painted up the classic Circle starter, so it ought to be a breeze once I get started.
Stay tuned for some actual paint progress soon .

Morvahna The Autumnblade
This has been along time coming. This was suppose to be completed months ago. Yes... I know... I am a slacker. Well I have been trying to turn over a new leaf and one of those is to paint more. This is a result of that painting. There was a tourny at Endzone a while ago and I had agreed to paint a fig for a winner to be chosen by the Press Ganger. Just so happened I was painting a pick pig for the event. The person who one I happened to know and I knew they played Circle. I had Morvahna sitting at home unpainted and asked them if they would rather have a fig they could use in their army. I just hope he has not lost some games while waiting for my slacker behind to get this done. I have taken several pictures so click on the link below to see the rest. I was able to drop off the fig at the last painting night we had.
Cheers,
John...

Painting on the Go Part Deux
So the last time I talked to you folks, it was about painting while you travel. I discussed things like paint and model selection that would enable you to keep things compact enough to work on several models at once with limited space. This time I want to talk about model transportation.
The last time I took a trip I used my Battlefoam Bag because I anticipated using my army for a few games, this time I knew my schedule wouldn't permit that but I have a commission I'm working on and didn't want to lose time on it. This means I needed another way to carry my models I wanted to work on.
I wanted something small but durable so that the models would be protected from everything in my suitcase and also be able to fit snugly in many different spots. Luckily I had this used cigar sampler tin laying around.

So this things about 8 inches long and 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Gives me plenty of room to put in large based Privateer Press models with a little room for padding. Which is perfect since the main model I want to work on is a Gnarlhorn Satyr for the previously mentioned commission. I then selected the High Reclaimer 2010 model because I've had a real desire to get him on the tabletop lately and play some great attrition games since I've never been good about setting up the assassination run. The final model I picked was an Ogryn Bokur since I've always loved the model and my Merc army has been sitting idle for a long time and needs some lovin.
So here's my selections in their new home for the next 2 weeks! Hopefully they enjoy it!

Paint Night at Gamers...
Scotty has been organizing paint nights at a game store in Ogden called Gamer's Asylum. There was a great turn out so much so we had to keep gathering tables for people to sit. This gives us an opportunity to share knowledge, eat liver fattening food and have a great time. I even brought some fresh salsa that I had made that day with some blended peppers that you could add to make it hotter. One of the mixtures had some ghost chilies in it. Grim was the only one who tried that additive. Scotty did have some of the Cheyenne/Habanaro blend which was entertaining and why he kept eating was also a question. Chevy showed a cool display idea for his minis with a very nice miniature he just painted. Sweet!! Sephirob had some sweet robots that were 50isk in nature. Sarathain was working on his Infinity miniatures and sadly I did not see his work. Jupiter was working on his Circle army for Hordes. MenothJohn was working on I believe something for Warmachine but I could be mistaken. Grim was working on Dark Age as well as Scotty. Volf showed some of his recent work for Warlord. He had a sweet looking Wolfen. Chris was working on some Circle figs for Trevor. Chris' dad was there briefly and had some serious progress on a Jack from Warmachine. For a short time TheWyrm was there to chat it up. I hope I didn't miss anyone. Anyway here are several pics from the night. If you are in the area come and join us...
As you see in the picture... well you know.
We have some great advice being given or as some would say some serious wisdomous is going on....
I was out of ear shot so I am just assuming some sports talk is going on. Can you guess which poster Scotty wanted to take home with him?
I was mistaken. I did say it was paint night but this picture clearly displays it was also a gun show, I forgot my reading glasses and organizational skills. In all honesty the organization portion I am going to ripoff and do that down in my hobby den.
I think Grim would have painted more but Scotty kept running off with his figs.
The master and his student as well as 'Eat my Pringles dang it!"
I had to add some comments since we didn't have audio for this. We did have a great time and if you were not there you missed it.
Cheers,
John...

Scarab7664 here...
Well I am going to jump on here and intro myself. My name is John Salmond and I have been painting off and on for a long time since the intro days of Greyhawk. I have been building terrain seriously for just a few years now. I have done a few pieces that have made it into No Quarter Magazine. I enjoy the side of painting and building terrain as much if not more than playing the games. I play Squad Leader, Mustangs and Messerschmidt, Hordes/Warmachine, Warlord, Warhammer, and I am now getting into Infinity because I need a Sci Fi game. I have also meddled in other games and have figures from all kinds.
Here is a Troll I am doing for my son that will be what I call 'Table Top' level. I have to tone things down otherwise I will never get anything painted. I am trying to paint figs for my kids now so they have something painted from the dad.

This was the last figure I completed and it was for a tournament painting contest for a league I was in several months ago.

This is the figure I am currently working on. This army is a step up from 'Table Top' because it is the one I have chosen to do that with. The skin is the only thing done on this critter.

This is how I thought I would start off by showing what I have recently completed and what I am currently working on. Hope you enjoy. If you have any questions jump on over to our Facebook page and give us a holler and we will be glad to answer the best we can.

On the Bench
I noticed I have a bunch of work in progress figs at the moment, so I thought it high time I show some behind the scenes progress. Hopefully everything here will be done soon, as it mostly part of a forum painting vow for July.

Oaths kept.
Well, here a few more proper pics of my entry for the league contest. He was a lot of fun to paint. This fig has an amazing amount of detail and character. You know a fig is great if you find yourself thinking of battles and background stories while you paint them. I do plan to revisit the runes in the wood to make them more glowey looking at some point, I was just a tad too rushed to do it correctly with the deadline and all.
I am actually most pleased with the tree bark. At first thought I was just going to paint it a deep brown color..............trees are brown right? :) The other day my work just so happened to take me high up onto the mountainside and as I was looking around, it dawned on me that the Oak trees were most definitely an ashy Gray color, hence my choice for the tree.

Strike from the trees!
Well, unfortunately I am having to post from borrowed computers but I do have a few pics to share. I have had the Reeves leader done for a while now and just sat down the other day and cranked out the rest of the unit box. I am really happy with how they turned out, and I plan to add another 4 to the unit shortly.
I also had a few requests after I posted the Shaman and Extoller to snap a pic of my Skorne force.

Kaya the Wildborne.
Just finished this little chicky up a night or 2 ago. I'm really not very happy with her but, she was so hard to paint being absolutely tiny and all. So, I just had to let her be at some point. Anyway I decided to try and snap some pics with a backdrop of my Jungle terrain. Perhaps it will make them a little less boring than just the plain old black background.
