Before I munch away on my final packet of crisps and other stuff from France I wanted to try out this chocolate that Mr Travels introduced to me. He likes snacking like me!! Mrs Travels likes snacking too but more with crisps and Chinese snacks.

When I saw this I saw the word le rocher and was thinking is this going to be like Ferrero Rocher?

Once I opened it I could smell chocolatey nuts... Maybe it is like Ferrero Rocher...

Or maybe not. This is an entire chocolate piece, and it is actually quite heavy for a chocolate piece! There are little bits of nuts inside too.

If you love melt in your mouth chocolate, and you like them sweet and a little nutty, this is the chocolate for you! It's a bit too much for me but will have another piece before I share it out. :D

Cost: €3.86 - expensive chocolate! But this is definitely a must find in France for the chocoholics. ^_^

Milka Caramel (German version)

I wasn't going to blog about this, but after reading Kev's review of the Polish version, I had a look at mine and thought, this is different! I got these as a present from the family I'm going to visit later (and you'll hear about them soon). The husband of that family came to London to visit back in May (of this year), and I had this bar of chocolate since then. I left it in my office for a bit, and then started eating it very slowly (I have quite a few snacks to get through...)... And I've finished it at last!

Milka Caramel (German Version)

I had only eaten two-thirds of it. I am a slow chocolate eater, and as you can see the chocolate is practically melting! Actually I ate those Belgian Smartie chocolates quite quickly. I guess they have to have a certain taste and texture for me to eat them in one or two days! This German design looks a little different to the Polish one...

The German version seems to have less caramel. Or maybe the caramel has set hard... not sure what that is surrounding the caramel...

The chocolate is quite sweet, and there is a slight aftertaste to it. Not really into Milka chocolate, but at least I gave this one a try! The taste of it reminds me of that Rolo bar I had a while back... Eeew.

Overall I wouldn't buy it, but it's interesting how European countries change their packaging design, taste and appearance of the "same" chocolate!

Limited Edition Pocky from Oyatsu Cafe and a 1000 Yen bar!

Nope. I didn't forget these. Just too lazy to snack on biscuity and chocolatey things!

At the same time I bought those Cookies and Cream Kit Kats, I bought a 1000 Yen mini chocolate bar, and two limited flavoured Pocky for this summer! Here's my quick geeky review!!

A 1000 Yen bar. How much is that equivalent to in pounds? £6.51 at the moment!! When I opened it, there was a 10,000 Yen money in it. ^_^

This is a very sweet chocolate with wafer bits inside. Reminds me of something but can't remember... A wafer biscuit maybe... It's tasty and light. A bit like Nestlé chocolate but I think this good for a snack! This one is not to share I'm afraid. It also melts really nicely into your mouth too!

If you like coconut, you will like this limited Coconut flavoured Pocky. There's lots of dessicated coconut covered in chocolate with the biscuit in the middle. There's also a very strong coconut smell. So if you definitely like coconut, try this one out!!

Oh! The Mango and Pineapple Pocky tastes good! It tastes like flavoured icing covering a biscuit. It has a very sweet taste to it. You can also smell the mango but it tastes of sweet and slightly sour pineapple... Yummy!!

Belgian Chocolate

Hmmm, how can I be only trying out these now?! I've only just had a craving for them after seeing so many delicious reviews on chocolate recently, so now I'm indulging on a selection of chocolates that I bought in Belgium a few weeks ago.

These ones look like they are hand made. They are from Daya Chocolates. Looks like a small chocolate company in Belgium. It's a big chocolate button with added Smarties. Tastes good. Not too sweet, and very chocolatey... Extremely nice! I could continue eating these... But I think I won't... (have had half the box whilst writing this!! :D )

These are really tasty

Wow, another Cookies (and cream) chocolate bar from Nestlé. Made in Belgium of course. This tastes really different! It's very similar to the Hershey's bar but there's no horrible aftertaste. There's no distinctive cookie taste but there's a lot of crunch to it. Lots of white chocolate, not too sweet, but I think I want more cookie taste in it. Only had 3 pieces so far...

So many biscuity bits

Ooo, this next one is from Le Moment Supreme. It's a very sweet white chocolate with bits of blueberry in it. There's no distinctive blueberry smell, but there is a very distinctive blueberry taste! Get those antioxidants in you! Heheheh... However I think the white chocolate will overpower the blueberry in terms of goodness and healthiness. Just had two big pieces!

These next ones from Cote d'Or looked very interesting at first, but ugh, I don't like them. They remind me of bourbon biscuits (which I dislike unfortunately). Plus they melted. And it only happened to this one out of the four!! Hah! The chocolate is too sweet, and the double lait (double milk) you can really taste, but I think it's too much for me. Wouldn't buy these again I'm afraid... I had one piece out of the entire bar. :(

So out of the four which one is my favourite? The round chocolate button with Smarties!! It was the best as it wasn't overbearingly sweet and not overpowered by other elements (cookies, blueberry, milk...)...

Now you must hop off to Belgium and find those chocolates (the supermarkets are the best place to look for a good piece of good chocolate, but also check out the smaller chocolate shops!).

Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme

A colleague of mine (who is replacing Mr Bear's seat for a few months and has a few more weeks to go with us) went to New York for two weeks! I gave her some of my loose change from when I went to Dallas as I knew I won't be in America for a while yet! I asked her to buy me something different and unique that the UK hasn't seen yet, and she brought me back a Hershey's bar! ¬,¬"" I'm sure I remembered that I told her not to buy anything Hershey's... Oh well... From my last Heshey's review I had a long foul aftertaste in my mouth, so I'm expecting something similar in this one...

Well this is not just any Hershey's bar, it's a Cookies 'n' Creme Hershey's Bar! Yes, another cookies and cream flavour. Do chocolate companies go to each other and say, "Hey, I'm going to make this flavour, I bet you can't pull off a better version than me!". That's just me over thinking, and I'm sure I've said this before in another post somewhere, but how many versions of the same flavour can you get?!

However it tastes awesome with the unfortunate aftertaste, but not as bad as the milk chocolate one... There is a distinct creamy taste to the white chocolate, which I like and it's sweet. But the best bit out of this chocolate bar is the cookie bits that they've added in. I didn't see this in the Kit Kat versions, and I think for me Hershey's has beaten Kit Kat in the overall Cookies and Creme (Cream) chocolate bar / snack!!

Very unique indeed! And now my colleague wants a piece!! ^_^ I hope I don't eat it all before I give it to her :D

By the way, does anyone know where one can buy this in the UK? Shops or online? I have a feeling my colleague will be on the hunt for it, as well as Mr Bear who wanted a piece too!! :D

Cookies and Cream Kit Kat - Japanese (from Oyatsucafe.com) and UK version

Another Kit Kat. Another flavour. ^_^ @grocerygems had already blogged about the Passion Fruit flavour which you can see here. I tried to order it, but I have a feeling they were sold out. So instead I ordered a couple of limited edition Pocky and a 1000 Yen chocolate bar which I will blog about in another post. :D

Here I am going to compare the Japanese and the UK version. Both are "Cookies and Cream Flavour"...

The Cookies and Cream Kit Kat from Japan is of course the mini version at 67 calories per bar. I wonder when we'll get to see the bigger versions on sale on the web... This one tasted more vanilla in taste than a creamy one. I couldn't taste much of the cookie flavour, but you can taste it after several bites. It tastes rather sweet too. It's kind of like has a Danish cookie taste to it. This isn't as good as the other Japanese Kit Kat's I have tasted so far... but nevertheless, it is worth trying it out.

After receiving my package, I ventured into Tesco one evening, and guess what I found?! The UK version of Cookies and Cream Kit Kat! WTH! It is a bigger version at 107 calories per bar, and the appearances are very different inside and outside. It doesn't have that cute Japanese packaging unfortunately. >.< The UK version is slightly bigger. There seems to be tiers on the outside, white chocolate or cream on top, and chocolate at the bottom. It tastes rather biscuity. I can't actually describe it... Just like a boring biscuit that has no texture and quite bland. It's as sweet as the Japanese version and the white chocolate / cream part is quite gooey, which I didn't particularly like from this Kit Kat...

Out of the two (I had to try them both twice for this post and to make sure I knew which one I liked!), I like the Japanese version. There's no gooey texture, and quality wise I think it tastes better than the UK version.

p.s. My colleague just mentioned to me that the Japanese version tastes a bit like pina colada the drink... I must agree!! The wafer gives it that coconut kind of taste, and the white chocolate tastes of the cream... :D

Karuna Dark Chocolate

For some reason I thought this chocolate bar is from Latvia, (on the packaging it looks like it says Latvia) but actually this Karuna Dark Chocolate bar is from Lithuania. My mistake!

So where did I get this from? A colleague, who had received many chocolates from a person who I think is Lithuanian. And I got this one for doing loads and loads of work! I love my colleagues who give me anything for free, and especially if it's food. Hint hint for future colleagues and friends. ^_^ (Only joking, but I do love free things!).

I've been quite patient and I have waited for a few weeks before eating this. I'm not that much of a chocoholic I'm afraid, I will leave it to the experts who can eat chocolate everyday! XD

Karuna Dark Chocolate

I think taste wise you would be AMAZED with it. It is not like the dark chocolate you will find in the UK. It doesn't have a very overpowering bitter taste, and it has an almost smooth nutty texture that lingers in your mouth. And it isn't overbearingly sweet either.

Also there's no bad aftertaste! This type of chocolate appeals to me, and trust me, not many dark chocolates do...

Not sure where I would find this in the UK. But if you're popping around Eastern Europe, find it and give it a try! I think I should pop over to Lithuania and treat myself to their chocolates!

Snickers and Oh Henry! and Butterfinger Crisp

My last post on the snacks I got from Dallas, and what not best to end this with four bars of chocolate. ^_^

I only ate half of all of these, and I guess I will save them for tomorrow or during the week...

So the first one is this Butterfinger Crisp. I've never come across this before, and thought I have to try it out! When I opened it, I didn't realise it came in two pieces. It was very tightly packed, and gave the impression of there being only one bar.

And when I split one piece into two, you will see this wafer biscuit which is covered in chocolate. Looks like a Kit Kat chunky, but there is a big difference to this. The chocolate is not that thick, and the wafer is very sweet, which I think is typical of a Nestle chocolate. It has this nutty taste to it too. I think these are quite nice! And I would buy it again.

Next is this chocolate bar called Oh Henry! which is also from Nestle. Mr Bear mentioned this before I had went away, so I thought I must find this one. This also came as a double mini bar.

I'm glad I did! It's a chocolate bar with caramel with peanuts and fudge in 2 separate layers. This one is not too sweet, and it tastes milk chocolate-ty. The caramel lasts in your mouth which is what I liked from this... A must try!! This makes me wonder who Henry was, and why it's called Oh Henry! My curiosity streak strikes!

Now for these two Snicker bars... I haven't seen these in the UK before/yet (have they been out here already? ... don't think so). So one is Dark Snickers, and the other is Almond Snickers.

The Dark one is a normal Snickers bar but covered with dark chocolate. ¬,¬ Nothing too special about this really... But it does take a while for the dark chocolate to sink in. It's not as dark as the chocolate you would find in the UK. So if you don't like too much bitter dark chocolate you will be happy not to taste in this Snickers bar.

But this Almond one is yummy!! Underneath the milk chocolate is a normal Snickers bar filling, but instead of peanuts, there's almonds. Ummmmmmm. I would definitely want more of these. Very almond-y in taste.

It seems Americans like nutty foods a lot. Most of my posts seem to have something nutty about them! I guess we all like nuts as it contains some nutritional stuff in them as well as being tasty. :D

Anyway, I hope to review more American type of snacks in the nearest future. (^_^)v
